Sanxingdui Museum

Located about 40 kilometers from Chengdu in Guanghan City, Sanxingdui Museum stands at the northeastern edge of the Sanxingdui Ruins, one of China’s most significant archaeological sites from the Bronze Age. The site was first discovered in the 1920s, excavated in 1934, and later opened to the public in 1997. Over the years, it has uncovered extraordinary relics that continue to capture global attention.

Among the most remarkable finds are a 2.62-meter statue, a massive bronze mask, and a nearly four-meter-tall bronze tree. These artifacts offer a fascinating glimpse into the unique Sanxingdui culture. Ongoing excavations, the most recent of which took place in March 2021 after a 35-year hiatus, continue to unveil even more mysteries of this ancient civilization.
